One thing I really wanted was awesome labels for my roller bottles when I first got started. Time and time again they let me down. Vinyl was a pain to make or expensive to purchase. High quality labels that were waterproof and oil proof were super expensive too. Or maybe $1-$5 a label is totally your cup of tea... then this post isn't for you.
I found these on Amazon, you get 200 labels for under $13, heck yes!

Living somewhere that actually has seasons is so different for this Arizona girl. I suppose I should say Phoenix girl, because parts of Arizona actually do get more than just really hot, or perfection for weather. Moving to a little country town just outside of Dallas this last year brought more weather than I expected for sure. Why is it so windy here?
I digress, but I do regret the big coat purge of 2012 when I thought "when will I ever really need these?" NOW, past self... you need them no you anti-hoarder.
Spring is officially a thing here, can I tell you it's GORGEOUS! The pops of violet trees, the green grass coming back to life, my friends and families noses running like a faucet, oh crap... that part isn't my fav... but y'all know, we have oils for that. #winkyface
From the stale cold stillness of winter to the lively sunny, still so very windy (does this stop ever) spring, it's time to freshen up the house.
Before I can really get cleaning I looooove to throw in a bright, uplifting, super happy smelling diffuser blend here are the handpicked favorites I will have on repeat this spring:
SPRING DIFFUSER BLENDS:
*if you're using your Aria in a large space feel free to double the drops of happy
3 drops of Bergamot
3 drops of Tangerine
3 drops Orange
2 Idaho blue spruce
3 drops Lavender
2 drops each: Peppermint, Orange, and Bergamot
1 drop Rosemary
so dang fresh
3 drops Lime
3 drops Bergamot
2 drops Orange
2 drops Rosemary
1 drop Patchouli
1 drop Ylang Ylang
whistle while you work
3 drops Purification or Citrus Fresh
1 drop Joy
Something I've really missed on this oily journey is perfume. There is just something about hugging your hubby and having him say "you smell so good". And while some of the blends I wear to support my emotions, motherhood, sanity... do smell good, it wasn't that same effect. So I made my own! Can I tell you it is just so dang lovely. Here's what I used!
Now that the house and I smell amazing I guess it finally is time to get out and wash those windows. That might call for a little Motivation Oil during naptime.
With all the cold and flue ickies going around we have been so fortunate to only get a mild cold in our household. But even getting that made me want to up our preventative game. Enter Elderberry syrup.
This is such an easy DIY, and a game changer in the yucky germ months. Making it yourself lets you know what's in it, and it's so much less expensive than store bought! I like to taylor the batches for our families needs too, obviously there will be oils, why would I ever leave out such tools, I wouldn't. As with all natural preventative measures you'll find mixed reviews on elderberry syrup, especially if you are a pregnant or breastfeeding mama. My OB is all for elderberry syrup, and loves Young Living Essential Oils, so with her permission I feel confident taking this to keep mama and baby's immune system boosted during this season. Please ask your Dr. and research for yourself. All opinions are my own, take charge of your health the way you best see fit.
Big internet hugs, stay well this season!
DO YOU EVER HAVE THOSE A-HA MOMENTS...YOU KNOW, THE ONES THAT ARE CLOSELY FOLLOWED WITH A "WHERE THE HECK HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!"...
That was exactly me when I discovered the Thieves Cleaner. I love it. It is a non-toxic cleaning alternative, it smells amazing and it cleans just as well, if not better, than any of those harsh chemical products from the grocery store. I literally use this stuff to clean everything, and I truly mean everything! In my corporate life I even had a bottle on my desk (I hated it when someone would clean their desks with Lysol - anyone else hate the way that stuff makes you feel like you are being smothered?? It cannot be just me!). Oh and let me not forget to mention, a little bit of this stuff goes a long way. With daily use, one bottle will last me about 4-5 months!
If you still want to keep grabbing those brands from the grocery story shelf - check this out, Thieves cleaner is actually a more inexpensive option. Say Whaaaa??? Yes, friends, 'tis true. Check out the graphic below for a cost analysis breakdown.
Non-toxic, smells amazing and it's cheaper?! Talk about a win-win!
It's super easy! I love that once I have all my supplies I'm not worried about running out of a cleaner mid deep-clean. And speaking as someone who is a bit OCD about cleaning weekly, that's a must have.
I will "warn" you, that if you've been using regular "stainless steel cleaner/polish" you may have a few layers of build up to get off. And it may look a little scary. Stick with me and get that layer off. It is SO much easier now to just grab my All-Purpose bottle and do the whole kitchen!
I do use specialty surface cleaning cloths that I found at TJ MAXX for under $5. You can also grab them on Amazon here (click on the picture).
Happy cleaning without all the headache causing, hormone disrupting, junk!

Big Internet Hugs,
I have a background in Research and Project Management for Clinical Trials in the wellness company feild. In my research I came across study after study of the effects of smells on people. From corporate buildings pumping Lemon throughout their office buildings to promote focus and clarity, to the way they can relax or balance you out.
I am kicking my past self for not saving those studies, having access (paid subscription through my work) allowed me to see the FULL studies, not just a blurb. I so wish I could share them without doing the research again and only being able to give you a portion. Boo past self, boo! So if you're super into that, my apologies, even with my background... I'm not going there with a toddler vying for my attention.
That thought of using something natural to have a positive outcome stuck with me. Then I watched, and watched, and watched others start to dive into different Essential Oil companies.
WHY did I choose Young Living?
After doing a LOT of research on oils of all different brands, I made the confident decision to go with Young Living.
This is hands-down one of those cases where you get what you pay for. Yes, you *can* buy a cheaper bottle of oil elsewhere, but *buyer beware* you are receiving an inferior product.
Young Living is the only company out there that has what is called the “Seed to Seal” promise, or anything like it. It means that Young Living controls every single aspect of their production line.
+ They own their own farms.
+ They plant their own seeds.
+ They cultivate their own crops.
+ They use essential oils on their plants.
+ They oversee everything, literally, from planting the seed to sealing the bottle.
They can say with a 100% guarantee that they know what is inside each and every bottle, and that they are pure beyond a shadow of a doubt.
In our house, we have been working on living as chemical and additive free as possible.
This. This is why I chose Young Living.
The skin is the largest organ in the body, and if I’m going to be consistently using these products on the skin of myself and my loved ones (and breathing them in, and ingesting them), I want to know exactly what I’m getting. YL gives me that peace of mind.
If you're like me, you want to start... but you aren't sure where or how to start. When I was first curious about EO's I wanted to try a face serum. The gal I was following had that glowy-I-don't-need-makeup-skin... And so did her friends that tried her serum! #ineededthat. So when I asked her about the serum she pointed me in the direction of a Premium Starter Kit (PSK).
20 drops of Frankincense, 20 drops tea tree, and 10 drops Lavender and then fill the rest up with a carrier oil. She used jojoba oil for that.
Those three oils alone cost: $124 (Frankincense $74Tea Tree is $26, lavender is $24) it was OBVIOUSLY a better value to dive into the PSK.
So a year of watching, included her going through the pregnancy of her little girl. I finally took the plunge. My kit came in the mail today. Ya'll there is an oil called stress away. STRESS AWAY, yes please #begonestress #abracadabra ... I was like, "tiny bottle, you might as well be named Baby Jesus Hugs". It smelled delightful, and 10 minutes later I felt so calm and in the moment, I was no longer worrying about the 45 things that needed to be done RIGHT THEN, I just started knocking them out. Even if this were a placebo effect, I'll sign up for that #pleaseandthankyou.
The kit came with 11 5oz bottles and some samples, so I guess I should call Stress Away my gateway drug.
There is so much goodness and hundreds of uses for those 11 bottles, it still blows me away! You can really dive into the kit HERE, oh how I hope you'll join my team of happy oilers, I know you'll be so happy you did! Order HERE.
